This B&B sits on top a small hill, and the views are gorgeous! The house is lovely. And it is very close to everything, including the Colorado National Monument for the outdoor enthusiast. However, the owners were very rigid with rules and we never felt at home. I received a cold stare-down when I unknowingly broke the rule - no guests allowed in the kitchen (despite no accessible microwave outside the kitchen). Breakfast was only served at two distinct times 8:30 and 9:30 - no deviation was allowed, meaning NO COFFEE beforehand, and again no accessible coffee anywhere else in the house. (My husband was in caffeine withdraw.) We were on our honeymoon but it felt like boot-camp! I wish I could say the breakfast more than made up for the military like treatment, but the portions were very small, and if you didn't like what they made that particular day - TOUGH LUCK! We left and stayed at the Hampton Inn in downtown Grand Junction instead. They also offered a free breakfast at our leisure and gave us the friendly treatment we thought we'd get at the B&B!!! The staff there was incredible helpful and nice. Go there instead.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location! We came to the area to mountain bike in Fruita and we were not disappointed. Nice lodging choices in Fruita are limited - this BnB is ideally located for Colorado Monument hikes or mountain bike riding in Fruita or Grand Junction. Great accommodations (quiet and comfortable) and delicious food (scones, homemade preserves, pancakes and casserole). The owners, Lee and Young-Ja were very hospitable and accommodating. We had a great time meeting new people as we shared breakfast - we are looking forward to our next visit!

We spent 2 nights in the red-carpeted Johnny Appleseed room at Los Altos and had a wonderful stay. We thought it was very reasonably priced, and our room was nicely appointed (though it was missing the TV that is advertised on the website for this specific room). The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and since it was August, we were grateful for the evaporative cooling throughout the house. The wrought iron rocking patio chairs on our private porch were especially enjoyable- hello, Milky Way! Breakfast was delicious on both mornings. Everyone got the same thing, including juice, except for the hot drink. Everything was fresh, perfectly prepared, and nicely presented on charming china. My favorite was the stuffed French toast. Besides the gorgeous views in every direction, the one thing that impressed both of us is that this house is SPOTLESS. Everything appeared dusted and wiped down very thoroughly. The grounds outside were well-maintained and beautifully landscaped (though the pond's water feature was off the entire time). Our room was initially missing some bar soap and shampoo, but Lee remedied that immediately when we told him. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the area, and it was obvious he was proud to be the host as he took us to our room on that first day, showed us how to work the shower, how to lock the French doors that led outside to our own porch area, and what landmarks we could see. Finding the B&B had been a bit daunting - the directions lead you through a suburban neighborhood. It pops you out at what you THINK is the top of a hill, but then you'll realize that the B&B is actually up another hill on its own 3+ acres at the end of a steep gravel driveway. Enough parking for all occupants. Young-Ja welcomed us upon our arrival and handed over paperwork requesting the usual info, plus preferred breakfast times (7:30, 8:30, or custom) and hot drink preferences. She also apologized for a charging error that had been made soon after we booked online a few weeks prior; thankfully it was an easy fix, but we appreciated the acknowledgement. There are some house rules (ie, try to limit activities after 11PM, no cell phones at the breakfast table, etc), but nothing surprising. Consider Los Altos the next time you're visiting the Western Slope!

We were back to visit our friends Lee and Young Ja and found the B+B as pleasant as ever. The bed is comfortable, the hosts accommodating, the breakfast fresh and good. The view is breathtaking. You need a car to enjoy it. Our favorite place to stay in GJ.

I stayed at Los Altos while in Grand Junction for a job interview. Our room was much more than a room, we had our own building away from the main house, similar to a Carriage House. We had 2 beds and another portable bed in the closet, a full kitchen, a living room and a great little balcony. Our bathroom had a shower and a jacuzzi which sold me on making the reservation. The views during the day, at night and in between ware breathtaking. The sky was full of stars and the sunrise was worth waking up early for. I think if a family was looking for a place to stay in Grand Junction, ask for the Executive Suite, you will be happy you did. Forget a hotel, Los Altos will be a much better choice.

I stayed here for three nights with the ladyfriend. Our whole trip was absolutely phenomenal to Grand Junction, and the center point was Los Altos. Absolutely beautiful rooms in this bed and breakfast. The breakfast every morning was home cooked, and served by Lee and Young-Ja the two innkeepers. Very friendly, attentive, and they make sure to give you privacy! The BnB is also on pretty much the highest hill in Grand Junction, which means it overlooks EVERYTHING. It's about 10 minutes outside of downtown, and up on a hill (like I said) and offers unparalleled views of Colorado National Monument. From the north side of their patio we spent a night with local pizza and a bottle of local wine watching the sunset. They have a view of the sunset and the Grand Valley that is second to none. Prices were a little high, but it was so gorgeous top to bottom. Friendly hosts, friendly guests, and wonderful accommodations. This is a short review, but I cannot tell you how much I loved this place. The lady did as well. It was beautiful, well appointed, well situated, with awesome food every morning. I can't recommend this place enough. If you need a getaway, and want something close to Denver but far enough away that it feels different -- go to Grand Junction and Los Altos. Tell Lee and Young-Ja that Jason sent you. You will not regret this place. You'll be planning your next visit as soon as you leave, just like we were.

We spent one delightful night here on our way back from the Arches. The house is beautifully decorated, and we were greeted with the best chocolate chip cookies, warm from the overn. The room very comfortable and the view from the back yard and the turret is simply amazing. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wonderful conversation with Lee and Joung Ja. What a special place - highly recommended!
